October Half Term
Join Us for an Apple Picking Day!
We’re excited to invite you to our Apple Picking Day, a fun-filled event where you can be part of the process of creating our very own company cider! Spend some time in the orchards, enjoy the fresh air, and hand-pick the apples that will be used to craft our special Wylde Cider.
Spooky Pickings
By participating, you’re not just picking apples, you’re helping us create something truly special. The apples harvested during this event will be the key ingredients in our next batch of Wylde Cider, meaning every sip you take will be a product of our shared efforts.
All picking participants will enjoy woodfired pizzas to share and soft drinks back at The Lost Kitchen as a thank you.
Fancy Dress
If you’re feeling fancy then why not wear spooky fancy dress for a free pumpkin!

For an apple picking event, you'll want to dress comfortably and practically. Here are some suggestions:
Layers for Warmth
Light Jumper or Flannel Shirt: Mornings can be chilly, so a cosy jumper or flannel shirt is perfect for layering.
Vest or Lightweight Jacket: A vest or a light jacket can add extra warmth without being too bulky.
Comfortable Bottoms
Jeans or Leggings: Opt for sturdy jeans or leggings that allow for easy movement. They’ll protect your legs as you move through the orchard.
Avoid White or Light Colours: Apple picking can be messy, so darker colours are a safer choice to avoid visible stains.
Footwear
Closed-Toe Shoes: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like wellington boots or trainers are ideal to protect your feet from uneven terrain and potential mud.
Waterproof Options: If the ground is damp, consider wearing wellington boots, nothing worse than wet feet.
Accessories
Hat: For Spooky Fancy dress or cold weather.
Crossbody Bag or Backpack: Keep your hands free for picking by using a small crossbody bag or a backpack.
Optional Extras
Gloves: If it’s particularly cold, lightweight gloves can keep your hands warm without interfering with your ability to pick apples.
Scarf: A scarf can add warmth plus it's easy to remove if you get too warm.
Remember to check the weather before heading out, as this can guide your final choices. Enjoy our apple picking adventure!

We’re excited to have you join us for a day of apple picking! To make the most of your experience, here’s a quick rundown of how the day will unfold:
Morning/Afternoon Session:
Picking in the VillageWe’ll begin our apple picking journey in a charming village orchard. This first field is rich with a variety of apple trees, and you’ll have plenty of time to explore the small field and pick to your heart’s content.
Then a Short Drive to the Second Field
We’ll take a short drive to the second apple picking field. This second orchard offers a different variety of apples and a slightly different picking experience.
End of the Session: Pizza and Drinks
To cap off the day, after you’ve filled up the baskets with fresh apples, we’ll gather for a well-deserved break. Enjoy complimentary woodfired pizza and soft drinks, a perfect way to relax and share stories of your apple picking adventure with fellow participants.
We look forward to seeing you there and making this a day to remember!

We’re adding that extra layer of excitement to our October apple picking event again this year… if you or your family come in fancy dress, you’ll have the chance to win a free local pumpkin, from the pumpkin steps!
Fancy Dress: Optional but Encouraged
While fancy dress isn’t compulsory, we highly encourage it to add to the festive atmosphere. Whether you’re a witch, a superhero, or a favourite character, dressing up will make the day even more fun for everyone!
A Reward for Your Creativity
All participants in fancy dress will receive a free pumpkin grown right here in our local area. It’s our way of saying thanks for joining in the fun and making the event a little more magical.
We can’t wait to see your creative costumes and share this wonderful Autumn day with you. Whether you come in fancy dress or just ready to pick apples, it’s going to be a fantastic family day out!

We want to ensure you have the best experience possible during our apple picking event, so here’s what to expect regarding the weather:
Light Rain or Drizzle:
The apple picking will still go ahead as planned! A little rain won’t stop us from enjoying the day. Just be sure to bring a raincoat or umbrella to stay dry while you pick.
Heavy Rain:
If the weather takes a turn for the worse and we experience heavy rain, we will unfortunately have to cancel the event for everyone’s safety. We’ll keep a close eye on the forecast and will notify you as soon as possible if this happens.
We hope for clear skies and look forward to seeing you in the orchard!
